Wale — Bad Girls Club (Feat. J. Cole)

Mr. #nodaysoff has taken quite a few days off, but just dropped this track, which features J. Cole, via Twitter.  Although Wale is currently working on his sophmore EP, Ambition, and Cole is preparing to drop his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, this is just a track they dropped for the fans, and will not be on either of their upcoming albums.

Lil’ Wayne — Racks (Freestyle)

Lil’ Wayne’s upcoming mixtape/prelude to Tha Carter IV, entitled Sorry 4 The Wait, is hours away from its release, but Rap Dose still decided to bless us with yet another leak earlier than scheduled. On this track Weezy  goes HAM over YC’s midwest banger “Racks”.

Wale — First Class (Feat. Big Sean & B.o.B)

It’s dope to see Wale, Big Sean, and B.o.B hop on a track together since they all shared the the XXL Freshmen Cover back in 2009. The song has a dope sample, and isn’t too bad, but two things about it threw me off:

- The random person on the hook

- And Big Sean’s mostly recycled verse from “What Goes Around”

I am pretty sure this song was recorded a while back, and WON’T be featured on Wale’s, or anyone else’s upcoming album, but hopefully Wale and Big S ean will get in the stu and drop some new heat for Wale’s next album.

Consequence — On My Own (Feat. Kid Cudi)

Ex-G.O.O.D. Music member Consequence officially drops this song, which originally leaked as a snippet back in January, and continues to rap about how he DOESN’T need G.O.O.D. Music to make it in the game. It is absurd that Cudi (obviously still with G.O.O.D. Music) is singing a hook on a song speaking against his crew, but even more ironic that Cons hopped on yet another Kanye West produced beat to speak out against him. The whole complaining about his former camp theme Consequence has going for MOD 3 is beginning to bore me, but Cudi provides him with a dope hook, and Yeezy did him a solid for giving him this smooth beat.

The Nike Air Yeezy II

The Air Yeezy II was unofficially debuted in the Nike x Kobe Bryant “Black Mamba” commercial (below), and again at Kanye’s explosive 2011 Coachella performance. Not only did these two sneak-peaks of Yeezy’s sophomore Nike collaboration have the sneaker world in a frenzy, but it also heightened expectations for its new design aspects and color schemes. This official image of the Air Yeezy II (above) does not have me as hyped as I was when THIS surfaced back in ‘09. It seems to be only slightly modified, and at the moment, I am feeling for worse. Two of the only major changes I can see are a shortened height, and some new ridges on the front midsole.

This shoe could be revamped/re-hyped if some dope color-ways are revealed, but other than that it is mostly a disappointment to me and countless others.

The highly anticipated Kanye West and Jay-Z collaboration album, Watch the Throne is NOW reported to be releasing on July 4th (not yet confirmed as an online or in store release). It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Drake & The Weeknd — Trust Issues (Mix)

A couple nights back The Weeknd dropped his own version of Drake’s new song “Trust Issues”, which is said to have been a demo track for “I’m On One”. This mashup of the original “Trust Issues”, “I’m On One”, and The Weeknd’s “Trust Issues Remix” was done flawlessly. Definitely a dope way of avoiding having to listen to each track separately.
